Community Hub
The Community Hub has had great success this term through the engagement of EAL families within our school community. We kicked off the first session as a soft launch with 30 attendees and introduced families to Compass and the daily routines of Craigieburn Primary School.
We are excited for the upcoming sessions as we are collaborating closely with Foundation house and providing 4 engaging sessions with Francisco Silva (Child Youth and Families Facilitator). The sessions include:
Session 1: Settlement and Attachment (brain development with play and attachment) ways and strategies to come together and foster connections and relationships.
Session 2: Identify rights, responsibilities, cross cultures and maintaining home culture.
Session 3: Introduction to the different needs of children related to the stages of development Social, Emotional, Cognitive and Psychological.
Session 4: Scaffolding children and parents with age-appropriate strategies to manage developmental differences.
So far, families have really enjoyed the connection and have found the sessions to be engaging and beneficial, we look forward to the continuation of connecting families into our school community through the Community Hub.
